A Dream Realized...
For a very long time I have wanted to tell the story of mothers. Of nursing mothers. What they feel, what
they think, what is deep within their hearts about this very special time in their lives. Up until now, I didn't really know
how to go about it. Now, I feel the time is right. And so, I embark on this very special journey.
This book is not going to be about me, or my close friends. It's about ALL mothers. Mothers who breastfeed
easily, mothers who struggle, mothers who pump their milk in order to provide it to their child, mothers who receive
donated milk and milk bank milk because they simply don't have enough of their own. It's about YOU.
I want you to be a part of this very special book. I want you to be able to tell your story, written as
a heartfelt letter to your nursing, or formerly nursing child about what your breastfeeding relationship is, or was. What
it means to you to have that special bond. And yes, I consider a child that receives his mother's pumped milk to be a nursing
child. Some children are never able to master breastfeeding directly from their mother, yet their mothers pump milk for them,
enabling them to still have breastmilk. That mother and baby are just as much a nursing couple as a baby who goes easy
to breast.
I invite you to be a part of this extraordinary project. I invite you into this wonderful book.
All you have to do is submit your letter by email, along with any pictures you wish included on your page(s)
as attachments, and I'll do the rest! All photo's will be converted to black and white, so if you have black and white pictures
that you love, please include them in your email. If at all possible, include at least one nursing picture please. Modest
and not-so-modest both accepted.
My hope is to have the book ready for purchase through limited publishing by Christmas 2009. Story submissions
will be accepted until August 2009.
